Antony Starr’s Netflix Surf Drama Breakers Starts Filming in Australia

Filming has officially begun on Breakers, a new Netflix Surf Drama series set in the wave-rich coast of Western Australia. The show stars Antony Starr, best known for playing Homelander in The Boys.

Production started this week in West Oz, a region famous for its powerful waves and real surf culture. Antony Starr shared his excitement about the project, calling the show a “banger” as cameras started rolling.

According to Deadline, the story follows two best friends from the United States who travel through Australia. During their trip, they find a surf community that looks perfect on the surface. But things are not what they seem. Antony Starr plays Brando, a charismatic and mysterious leader of the group.

The show was previously known by the working title Red Bluff. It will run for eight episodes and focus on friendship, danger, and life around the ocean.

The Government of Western Australia confirmed that Breakers is the largest production ever filmed in the region. The series will employ over 100 local workers and bring more than $19 million into the local economy.

Like recent surf films shot in the area, the show plans to involve local surfers and community members. This helps keep the story real and authentic.

Filming is expected to continue until June 2026. After post-production, Breakers will be released globally on Netflix. A release date has not been announced yet.

With real surf locations, local talent, and a strong lead performance, Breakers is shaping up to be a must-watch series for surf fans and drama lovers alike.
