Fans of Bridgerton were eagerly waiting for one very special moment in Season 4 — the romantic bathtub scene between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek. Now that Part 2 of the season is streaming on Netflix, the actors are opening up about what it was really like to film that scene.
Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, and Yerin Ha, who plays Sophie, recently spoke with ABC News about the challenges they faced while shooting the scene.
Season 4 is based on the book An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn. Many readers were excited to see this important romantic moment brought to life on screen.
However, filming it was not as easy as it looked. Yerin Ha explained that there were many logistical challenges, especially because they had to stay comfortable and safe while acting in water. She joked that instead of worrying about fan expectations, she was mostly thinking, “How do I stay above water?”
Thompson laughed and added that he was wondering, “How do I not drown?” The actors said they decided to focus on enjoying the moment instead of feeling pressure to perfectly match the book.
Thompson also shared that while the show respects its fans, the goal is not just to copy the book exactly. Instead, the team wants to tell the story in a fresh and surprising way. He said their job is to tell the story honestly, not simply deliver what people expect.
With romance, emotion, and a bit of humor behind the scenes, this much-talked-about moment has become one of the highlights of Bridgerton Season 4.
