A brand-new crime drama connected to the world of Tulsa King is getting ready to start production. The upcoming series “Frisco King” will begin filming later this month in Fort Worth, Texas, as creator Taylor Sheridan continues expanding his growing TV universe.
The show is a spinoff of the hit series Tulsa King and will stream on Paramount+. The story will follow a powerful character played by Samuel L. Jackson, who returns as Russell Lee Washington Jr. Fans first saw this character appear in the final episodes of Season 3 of Tulsa King.
Originally, the project had a different title and location. The series was first planned as “NOLA King” and was expected to film in New Orleans. However, the production later moved to North Texas, and the title was changed to “Frisco King.” The new location means several scenes will be shot around the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
According to star-telegram.com, recently, the production team confirmed four new actors joining the cast. One of them has already worked with Sheridan before. Actor Kai Caster previously appeared in Yellowstone. In the new series, he will play Keith, a friendly valet working at a local hotel.
Other actors joining the show include Asa Germann as Teddy, a smart college dropout who catches the attention of Russell Lee Washington Jr. Actress Lilah Pate will play London, a confident local cheerleader who becomes part of Russell’s group. Meanwhile, Savanna Gann will portray Avery, London’s friend who also joins the crew.
The series will have eight episodes, and Sheridan is reportedly writing the entire season himself. He will also serve as an executive producer along with Samuel L. Jackson and Sylvester Stallone.
Several longtime collaborators from Sheridan’s previous projects will also help direct episodes, including Christina Alexandra Voros and Michael Friedman.
While filming will begin in March 2026, the network has not yet announced an official release date. However, fans of Sheridan’s crime dramas are already excited to see how this new story connects to the Tulsa King universe.
