Rob McElhenney (Mac) and Charlie Day shared the exciting update on their social media accounts, showing fans that they are back on set and ready to bring more laughs.
Rob posted a picture of a clapperboard on a stove with the caption “Back in the kitchen,” hinting that the show’s kitchen will play a big part in the new season. The director for this season is Todd Biermann, and the filming is happening right now, with the whole crew back at work.
In a previous interview, Danny DeVito, who plays Frank, mentioned that the team was scheduled to start filming at the end of January 2026. He expressed how much he enjoys working with the cast and how much fun it is to keep the show going. The show’s stars, like Kaitlin Olson and Charlie Day, also shared their excitement to continue the long-running sitcom that has been a big part of their lives for years.
In addition to the regular cast, Kaitlin Olson recently gave fans the chance to visit the “Always Sunny” set. Fans could even win a chance to meet her and see the cast in action! “It’s getting weird,” she said. “A few years ago, it was exciting, but now it’s like we’re just old and weird.” Even though Olson has mixed feelings about the show’s long run, she acknowledges how much the show has meant to her, both professionally and personally.
