Jisoo, who is also a member of the famous K-pop group BLACKPINK, plays the character Seo Mi-rae, a tired webtoon producer who decides to try a virtual-reality dating service after several disappointing relationships.
Speaking in an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jisoo explained that she felt a strong connection with her character. She said that Mi-rae’s life struggles and thoughts about relationships were very similar to her own experiences.
The story of the series focuses on how technology can change the way people date. In the show, Mi-rae uses a program that allows users to experience a perfect digital relationship through virtual dates. However, the series also shows that real emotions and real connections can be complicated.
One of the most memorable parts of filming was the time the cast spent in the Philippines. Jisoo had visited the country before during music tours with BLACKPINK, but she said this was the first time she could truly enjoy the place.
She shared that filming there felt almost like a vacation, because the team had time to explore local areas and enjoy different foods. Jisoo laughed while remembering how her co-star Seo In-guk used his free time to try exciting activities like scuba diving and snorkeling.
Seo In-guk also spoke about the theme of the show. Even though the series talks about digital dating and technology, he believes relationships are always difficult because people must learn to understand each other’s feelings.
Both actors agreed that the show is really about love, growth, and learning from mistakes. Jisoo said that failures in relationships can actually help people become stronger and more confident.
