Ron Funches Shares Autism Diagnosis After Filming The Traitors Season 4

Ron Funches has shared a personal and emotional update after filming the reality TV show The Traitors Season 4. The comedian revealed that watching himself on the show led him to seek an autism diagnosis.

As per Yahoo reports, Ron shared the news with fans on Instagram, saying that people online had suggested he might be autistic. After reflecting on his behaviour during the show, he realized they may have been right. He explained that seeing himself misunderstood on screen helped him learn more about who he is.

Earlier, Ron Funches also spoke on Threads, where he said he always believed he was simply an autism ally and parent. His son was diagnosed with autism as a young child. However, filming The Traitors made Ron notice his own mannerisms and how often others misunderstood his words, even when he felt he was being clear.

He said that this experience pushed him to begin the process of getting a professional diagnosis. Ron also shared that he does not feel comfortable labeling himself until that process is fully complete.

During Season 4, Ron often found himself isolated from other contestants. Some players suspected him of being a traitor because of his quiet and reserved behaviour. This led to tense moments on the show, including arguments with fellow cast members.

Ron Funches explained that he is not someone who can be energetic all the time. Still, some contestants saw his calm nature as suspicious. This made filming emotionally difficult for him.

Despite the challenges, Ron said the experience helped him understand himself and his son better. He called that realization a personal victory.

New episodes of The Traitors air every Thursday on Peacock.
