Corrections Policy

This page sets out how Spot Filming Location handles mistakes. The site is committed to issuing prompt, visible corrections whenever an error of fact is identified, and to making it easy for readers to flag problems.

What Qualifies as a Correction

A correction is issued whenever any of the following are wrong on a published article:

  • A name, title, role, network, studio, or production credit.
  • A filming location, address, region, or production timeline.
  • A reported quote, attribution, or source.
  • A factual claim about plot, casting, production status, or release information.

Typographical errors, grammatical fixes, and minor stylistic edits are corrected silently without a note. Substantive factual errors are corrected with a visible note.

How Corrections Appear

When a substantive correction is made, the article is updated and a dated correction note is appended at the bottom (or, when relevant, at the top) of the article. The note explains:

  • What was previously stated.
  • What has been corrected.
  • The date the correction was made.

If a correction materially changes the headline or main claim of the article, the change is also reflected in the article’s published metadata and the modification date is updated.

Removal vs. Correction

Articles are not silently removed to hide a mistake. If an entire article needs to be retracted because the central premise is wrong, the original page is replaced with a retraction notice that explains what was wrong and why the article was withdrawn.

How to Request a Correction

If you spot an error, the fastest way to flag it is through the Contact page. Please include:

  • The URL of the article in question.
  • The specific sentence or claim that is wrong.
  • A source for the correct information, if you have one.

Every correction request is read personally by the editor, Miles Sterling. Most reviewed corrections are actioned within 48 hours.
