Spot Filming Location Submit a location

Editorial Policy

This policy explains how articles on Spot Filming Location are researched, written, checked and kept up to date. It applies to every article and page on the site.

Our standards for sourcing

  • Every factual claim must trace to a source. That includes addresses, dates, hours, prices, quotes and statistics. If we cannot find a reliable source for a claim, we leave it out.
  • We prefer primary and official sources. Official venue, tourism board, film office, city and county pages come first, followed by established publications and reference works. Wikipedia and similar open references are used as a starting point and are checked against other sources where the claim matters.
  • We link to the specific page that supports the claim. We do not link to a publication’s or organization’s homepage as a stand-in for a source.
  • We do not invent facts, quotes or citations. We do not cite a page we have not read.
  • We do not claim first-hand experience we do not have. Our guides are researched from sources. We do not say we visited a place unless a named contributor actually did and says so.

Hours, prices and tickets

Hours, prices and ticket details change often. We state them only when we have read them on the venue’s official page, and we say when we read them, for example “as of October 2026,” and link to that page. If we could not confirm a detail, we say so or simply link to the official site.

Unconfirmed information

When sources disagree or a claim cannot be verified, we say so. We use wording such as “reportedly,” “according to,” “sources differ” or “we could not confirm,” and we name the source. We do not present rumor as fact. Where a fan site and an official source conflict, we favor the official source and note the difference when it matters to a visitor.

Private homes, safety and privacy

  • We do not publish full street addresses for private homes. We give town- or street-level information and explain how to see the place respectfully from public property.
  • We do not publish the homes of celebrities, the hotels where cast or crew stay, or anyone’s real-time location.
  • We include a respectful-visit reminder wherever a location involves a private home, a cemetery, a working facility or a neighborhood that could be affected by visitors.

Photos

We use photographs only when we have the right to. That means our own photos, images licensed for reuse (such as Creative Commons images, credited to the author with a link to the license), or images we have permission to use. We do not use movie stills, posters, screenshots or images whose license we cannot verify.

Independence

We are independent of the studios, networks, production companies and venues we write about. We do not accept payment to include a location, to rank it higher or to change what we say about it. If a business gives us access, a free ticket or a review sample, we will say so in the article. See our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure for how advertising and affiliate links work and why they do not shape our coverage.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help with drafting, outlining or editing. AI tools are not a source of facts. Anything an AI tool helps draft is reviewed by a person, and every factual claim is checked against the sources described above before publication. We do not publish text that has not been reviewed and fact-checked, and we remove placeholder or unverified material before publishing.

Keeping articles current

Filming location details change: businesses close, houses are sold, hours shift and events end. We review articles periodically, update them when we learn of changes, and re-check time-sensitive details such as seasonal hours and event dates. When we make a substantive change, we update the article and, where appropriate, note the update. Readers can help by reporting problems through our Contact page.

Errors

If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Our Corrections Policy explains how to report an error and how we handle corrections.

Reader submissions

Reader-submitted material is reviewed and, where needed, verified before it is published. See our Submission Guidelines.
