Hi, I’m Miles Sterling, the editor and writer behind Spot Filming Location. This site exists for one simple reason: I love figuring out where movies and TV shows are actually filmed, and I think a lot of people want clearer, more careful answers than the internet usually gives them.
What This Site Covers
Spot Filming Location publishes two kinds of writing:
- Filming news — daily updates on what’s shooting, who’s been cast, set sightings, on-location reports, and production milestones.
- Location guides — in-depth, evergreen articles about where specific movies and TV shows were filmed, with real addresses, regions, and the story behind why a production chose that spot.
The focus is heavy on streaming-era television, Hallmark Channel and holiday movies, and feature films with strong location identities — anything where the “where” of the production is part of the experience.
Who’s Writing
It’s me. Every post on this site is written and edited by Miles Sterling. There is no team of anonymous freelancers and no AI-generated filler. That’s deliberate — keeping the publication small means the voice, judgment, and quality bar stay consistent across every article.
My background sits at the intersection of entertainment reporting and travel writing. I’ve spent more than a decade reading trade publications, tracking film commissions, watching too many “behind the scenes” featurettes, and occasionally visiting filming locations in person when travel allows. Read the full author profile for the long version.
How I Source Stories
News pieces are cross-checked against at least two credible sources — trade outlets like Deadline, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, official network and streamer announcements, regional film commission filings, on-set photos from verified accounts, and direct interviews where possible. When something is unconfirmed, I label it as a report rather than presenting it as fact.
The full standards live on the Editorial Policy page, and the way corrections are handled is documented on the Corrections Policy page.
What This Site Is Not
- It is not a fan wiki or a community-edited database.
- It is not a clickbait operation — headlines describe the article, not bait the click.
- It is not an AI content farm — every post is human-written and human-edited.
- It is not affiliated with any studio, streamer, network, or production company.
How to Reach Me
If you have a tip about an active production, a correction on a published article, or a question about a specific filming location, the fastest way to reach me is through the Contact page. I read every message personally.
Thanks for reading, and welcome to Spot Filming Location.
